BBC Entertainment have commissioned Remedy Productions to make a new six part game show for BBC One.
From the supermarket to the seaside, from Loch Ness to Liverpool, Remedy Productions’ new comedy entertainment show Ready or Not for BBC One will be pouncing on the public all across the country to test their knowledge and nerves. It’s time for the unsuspecting people of Britain to win big whether they’re Ready or Not!
The 6 x 30’ series is a twist on the traditional game show, as each week a roving team of hosts heads out to shops, restaurants, high streets and iconic landmarks across the nation – ready to surprise members of the public in a series of hilarious quiz ‘hits’.
Often filmed using hidden cameras, the Ready or Not hosts will surprise unsuspecting members of the public – anywhere. The hosts might pop their head out of the middle of a restaurant table with a sports quiz for two diners; or challenge a rider at the top of London’s Orbit slide to give a list of geography answers before they hit the bottom; or turn a shopping centre lift into a glamorous mini game show set. There’s even Crumpet, the talking dog, ready to strike up a conversation with startled shoppers before hitting them with a series of tricky questions.
In every game contestants could win cash or prizes on the spot. And at the end of the show, one lucky contestant will play in the big money game for the top prize of £1000.
Commissioned for BBC One by Kate Phillips, Controller, Entertainment, the commissioning editor is Kalpna Patel-Knight. The executive producers are Jim Regan (Head of Remedy Scotland) and Matt Tiffin (Head of Entertainment), the series producer is Stuart Harrison and the series director is Paul Young.
